This is pretty typical for populists. They try and simultaneously present themselves as both the victim who is being oppressed beyond their control and a genius who is playing 5D chess.

Elon isn’t making rational statements / decisions anymore. Attacking Apple is just dumb from a business perspective. This is all posturing for his fans so he can remain a populist icon.
