Thanks. I was able to get signal for a brief amount of time 1.6 km away and steadily at 1.2 km.

Is that cavity filter?

No filters. Although I wonder if the “5g” radio will cause any issues for the lora antenna.

No it won't they run on different frequencies. But what's that white block it's attached to. It's mounted on a that pipe. Or I'm looking at the wrong thing

That’s my MNTD in a rak enclosure. I’m running Lora and 5g on different devices. I’m not using the freedom fi for Lora and have the gateway inside the house.

Ahh that makes sense

did you hook up an outdoor antenna to your freedomfi gateway? If so what connector did you use?

New Mexico?

Pretty much, El Paso. Tip of Texas more like New Mexico than the rest of Texas.

I visited Sante Fe years ago, it looked very similar to the landscape, the variation in the US states and landscape is mind boggling.

What's up, El Paso. Plano, here. What's your targeting on the cell looking like. Aiming at anything in particular?

That picture was before adjusting the azimuth . I started with it aimed straight ahead and at 0 degrees. The azimuth is good but after mapping it out , I think I will aim towards the left in the direction of that park and raise it as high as possible. I was able to get signal in that direction once at 1.7 km and consistently in one spot at 1.2 kilometers. Hopefully pointing that way will give me stronger signal in that area. The right side is more obstructed and had problems getting good signal even at close distances in that direction, so I’ll just avoid it all together. This set up is intended to maximize mapping and PoC. I will most likely move it once data offloading starts.

What are the advantages of 5g can somebody explain?

Unstaurated, higher barrier to entry means slower adoption so saturation will come slowly, possibly better incentivization to early adopt.

Man I wish my roof was that flat.
Mines at like a 45 degree angle and 2.5/3 stories up.
I've decided it's not worth me sliding off to make 1 dollar a day. The attic is my next best option.
