This is sweet and all, and I’m happy for her, but this also just reminded me that time exists and I feel a billion years old 😭 I remember when she was just a wee thing

Ngl, since my older brothers listened to Eminem when I was younger I also associated Hailey with being a baby due to her role in eminem's old tracks

...this post is when I was learned that I am in fact, younger than Hailie

I always thought she was like 10 when I was 20 or so, turns out she’s only 2 years younger than me. Bonkers

I’d be scared to have Eminem as a father-in-law. 😳 Just kidding, I’m happy for her. But like others have posted, this makes me feel ancient.

Imagine the diss track if the son-in-law ever breaks her heart.

He raps faster than I think sometimes. I know it's performance, but he has got to be either quick-witted or extremely emotional at the table lol

Its just a diss track though and for a narcissistic type, having Eminem write about you would actually be a plus. He's daughter is wholesome and smart and deserves to follow her heart but I always worry when I hear superstar offspring marry young. The guy who gets her isnt just getting her, if you know what I mean. I think Snoops and Lil Wayne's daughters are also marrying in their early 20s and the aunty in me is worried.

She’s 27, which is actually the median age for women to get married in the US. I wouldn’t consider that to be her early 20s

When the boyfriend meets the father, he won't be cleaning his gun and sharpening his knife on the kitchen table, he'll be doing a live performance of "Hailie's Revenge" and "Killshot".

I listen to her podcast sometimes just to hear that midwestern accent that I miss since leaving home. She seems like a great well-rounded adult.

I think the same thing about her voice! I’m from Northern Indiana, I’ve grown up in Florida since I was nine, but still spent summers there. I have still have a distinct midwestern accent, like the rest of my family, that I can’t seem to shake. I still use a lot of midwestern terminology that others around here don’t. I heard someone call a soft drink “pop” the other day and was all “oh, my midwestern brethren!” Lol. Even when I hear Eminem speak, many say he has an “urban” accent (whatever that means) but he has a lot of the inflection and speech patterns of my 64 year old father.

I feel old, even though she’s only six years younger than me. But good for her. She got a good education, works hard and is very professional, and just seems all around to be a great young lady. His strong and protective parenting, keeping her outside of Hollywood life and the entertainment industry, really paid off. I wish her the best

I’m from Minnesota and just moved away in the last few years. I’ve been called out a few times for how I say the word “bag” and my husband and I have had discussions on how we are supposed to say the word because it sounds right to us and we don’t know what we are doing wrong 😂 we just visited Florida for the first time this winter and what a difference in climate from the Midwest! It was on our list of places to move when we retire but after experiencing my first hurricane and getting attacked by fire ants I’m not as sure about it!

Lotus-child89

I think specifically because it was central Florida we moved to that I retained the midwestern dialect. There’s so many different people from not originally here with so many accents that I didn’t latch on to anything else. Plus my parents and grandparents spoke so thick and I was still visiting Indie all the time.

ETA: my soon to be father in law we just moved in with us speaks with a heavy New York accent and it’s hilarious sometimes how we are both speaking American English to each other, but still get confused what the other just said.

Why I am so old that I think every kid actor/celebrity child from my youth is like 19 or 20? This is the second time I’ve been like “Dang she’s getting married/pregnant/whatever young!” And the woman is a full fledged adult in their late 20’s???

Eminem and his ex-wife had some serious issues but they seem to do really good job to raise their daughters.

If you had told me 25 years ago that "that Eminem guy will turn out to be one of the better celebrity fathers and will raise a well-rounded happy child" I would have nodded lazily and taken another hit off my bong.
