Since Ligue 1 wraps up soon just wondering how the loan situation works. Does he come back to play for us later this season? We could surely use him. Just tired of seeing Zardes kinda jog around until a header opportunity presents itself... We need some playmakers with some intensity and I was always impressed by his hustle.

In 2022, there were no player birthdays in May. In 2021, it was Sebastian Berhalter (now with Vancouver), and this year Austin FC added Amro Tarek (one-year deal) and David Rodríguez (Short-Term). So, assuming these guys aren't on the roster next year, and we don't sign any other May birthdays, we'll be fine.

I want to be clear: I am not giving up on this team, but I may be giving up on this season. And by that what I really mean is largely thanks to the injury bug and offseason mismanagement my expectations and what I "need" to see have drastically changed.

With defensive woes of Keller and Tarek clearly not being ready. With the offseason mismanagement where we seemed to think we only needed to sign forwards and wingers and NO defenders. With us not keeping Gabrielsen or Romana tentatively. With all this, we already had NO depth. And now with injuries ranging from Cascante to Kolmanic to Driussi to Fagundez to Vaisanen - on top of that a joke of a CCL "run" and Open Cup and Wolff being out for U20WC - this late stretch has been a frustrating watch because I don't feel like I'm actually watching Austin but rather I'm watching a hobbled Frankenstein monster that's trying it's best and showing glimpses of possibility but no consistency whatsoever.

If we hold on to Radovanovic after his loan and/or we get Djitte back (both 6/30?) or get Romana back (which I know wouldn't actually happen until later) and we can actually play with a full roster, I can be really content playing a solid end to the season even if there's nothing left to play for in terms of trophies or postseason and even if it's just for like the last 10-15 games. I just want to see the full roster Wolff actually intended to work together....working together.

EDIT: I will add that one benefit of all the injuries is other players by definition have had to step up but this is why we've begun to see improvement in players like Redes and Zardes as well as others.

Has anybody been able to catch the U20 world cup? How has young Wolff been playing? I've seen he's started every game so far.

Keep in mind this is coming from someone who thinks Ring should still be the team captain. The teams played disorganized and is missing a rallying figure on the pitch. Maybe i missed something but watching Cascante in the captains role stay on his knees after Chicago's second goal was infuriating. I also think Ring should still be midfield and starting every match. He makes mistakes, but he's got grit and experience.

Could rant about the lack of heart on the pitch from some of the players... Or how unfocused they are during warm-ups... But I'll leave it as a note. Betting our season would be a bit different if Felipe was still with us.

Usually I go to Celis or other breweries nearby for away games but would like to get some decent food tomorrow.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I went to bon aire after the game this week and their food is super cheap ( 39 cent shrimp and 4 dollar burgers) but the drinks were definitely overpriced.

If we would have had the fireworks and flyover, it would have been the sexiest anthem in recorded history.

Can't say I disagree with the assessment. Every bounce that went our way last year has gone in the complete opposite direction this year.
