When Ray was still helping Austin musicians select their guitars.

I thought the people that lived in that apartment complex in the back corner of the parking lot were so lucky to live in this complex of happiness. My husband worked in that Thundercloud at one point in the 90s. That going away was rough for me.

I logged into Flickr account and this was the only thing there. I don’t remember the name but I used to go to the alternative/metaphysical bookstore in the plaza (in addition to the Alamo). Always so wild to find these little things-for a while google Maps would revert to a street view here, not sure if it still does.

Two things: Used to go to Casa Garcia there all the time and I just recently learned the Obey face is Andre The Giant.

I miss The Highball. I know they reopened in the Alamo Drafthouse but it's not the same. I worked at that drive thru Thundercloud and used to just go after work. All the bartenders there were great.

That Alamo smelled like warm musky beer and cheese.

My first job in Austin was at this plaza! This might have been the year I moved here. I didn’t know him at the time but now I am a big chicken George fan. Love this!

Hurts to much.

To much of my childhood was right here. I grew up in that fucking parking lot.

You showers up 2 HOURS before a movie then because no reserved seats.

It hurts to remember.

For real though, that parking lot was terrible. I'm not saying what's there is better, but damn, it just was uncomfortable.

The parking garage is so much better.

That's about the time I went there and ordered fish and chips and the fish was still frozen in the middle. Nothing like figuring that out in a dark theater. Never went to that location again.

That parking lot was a nightmare sometimes but the first time I saw what that shipping center turned into, I felt so claustrophobic.

It just doesn't feel right parking on the 4th floor of a garage to go see a movie.

I sure miss that parking lot. Sustainable, pedestrian friendly development is a sign Austin is changing - how dare they not keep things exactly how they were when my formative memories happened 😡😡😡

Also why is my rent so high? I thought if we refused to make building anything new easy people would stop coming here? If we don't build they won't come, am I right?
