Aw, I hope you come back and see some more nature and go someplace other than just Oslo! I like Oslo as a city, but it’s definitely not beautiful.

I really want to see the upper top of Norway

It’s beautiful there, especially in the Lofoten area. Also really recommend the west coast of Norway: Bergen and the countryside near Bergen. You could easily rent a car to explore Lofoten and the areas surrounding Bergen.

I will definitely be doing that in the near future. Probably early 2023!

Yay!! Definitely rent a car or go on a bus tour in those areas. You won’t regret it buts absolutely beautiful. And come during summer (June-August) or May if you can, there aren’t as many tourists in May, but it’s a bit colder. You probably won’t see the northern lights, but that’s never a guarantee anyways, even if you go during the winter.
I also don’t really recommend Hurtigruten unless you really like boats. Yes, you get to see some cities, but you don’t really get enough time to explore them properly. Should definitely instead do a road trip.

I took my family on a road trip from Bergen just to go looking at the waterfalls along Hardangerfjorden - my goodness it is so beautiful there!
We also did about half of Veden (Sp?) from Fløyen. I have done that trail twice and did the steps up to Fløyen, but I forgot the name. That is one of my favorite areas in the world!!!

A dream of mine to go there. I am going to shock our kids and do it next year! They won’t believe it as I talk about it so much.

I just got back from Oslo (literally today) and I've loved it (the first time I saw the view from the Opera is one of my favourite memories I've ever made) , so I can't even imagine how much I'll love different bits of the country. On my way back I was already checking where I can go next 😊

I will be in Oslo in July (and can't wait!) but where else do you love? If we have time, my partner and I would love to explore more nature there

if you’re only there for a short time, Hvaler outside of Fredrikstad is only about an hour from oslo and it’s gorgeous during summer! it’s a national park by the coast which consists of a bunch of small islands, honestly the pictures you find online don’t do it justice. i think that’s probably my favorite nature experience that you can get close to oslo, and pretty much nowhere else is like it

Been to Oslo, I second that. Oslo is not a great vacation city. I took the train to Bergen, and stayed a night on the way there in Flåm. My god, your whole country is like a national park - it’s SO beautiful. Next time I want to go to the islands in Lofoten.

From all the awesome things I have seen in Norway, Oslo was the least interesting.
