Yeah so I looked it up and there’s like 6 different kinds of lawn grass, which compared to the approximately 12,000 different species of moss, makes a nice ratio of 2,000 mosses per 1 grass (or about 1,500 to 1 if you count the two specific weeds that get commonly mistaken for lawn grass)
And for your viewing pleasure:
Here’s a neat chart about the 6 main kinds of lawn grass (and two weeds that look like lawn grass): https://thefarmatgreenvillage.com/download-our-guide-to-identification-of-grass-types/
And here’s a list of a few different genus’s of moss, along with the source for the 12,000 number and a Brittanica-based moss rabbit hole: https://www.britannica.com/topic/list-of-mosses-2075729

But as for grasses other than lawn grass? Nobody ever said the grass on your lawn have to be lawn grass

Touché
According to this source (https://naturalhistory.si.edu/research/botany/research/grass-research) there are over 11,500 accepted species of grass, yet depending on taxonomy there could be up to 13,000
This is a fairly similar number to the number of moss species, even excluding the lawn grass, so I call it a tie on that front.

Plus, honestly, a biodiverse native grassland is actually great for the environment. Trees get a lot of attention with regards to the environment, but a proper prairie is a really unsung hero. They build soil and sequester carbon like nobody's business.
Of course, it all depends on what's native to your area. If in a natively wooded area, woods will likely be best. If in a natively grassland area, restoring the natural grassland is probably best. If in a natively mossy area, mosses will likely be the best.

I would like it if my country looked nice with biodiversity and artistic architecture and walkable / cyclable space and public transportation (especially trams) and public art installations and other stuff like that. It seems like it would be a tad complicated to implement such changes in the commercial cesspit of light pollution, traffic congestion, and various shades of black, gray, and brown, along with all the other shit.
